JOHN CORNBILL - MANAGING DIRECTOR
John has spent over 40 years influencing UK policy, both as civil servant inside UK Government, as Head of Strategy and Consulting at BWI and Managing Director of The Insight Works. His career has seen him hold positions including Director of Export and Head of Competitiveness Policy at the Government Office for the West Midlands, through to founding and building Coventry University’s highly successful European Programmes Integration Centre (the EPI Centre). With innovation embedded in everything he does, John has designed and delivered some ground-breaking Innovation projects including Innovative Actions, Innovation Networks and multi-partner HEI collaborations around new product and service introductions.
Since establishing the Insight Works in 2005, John has built the business to be one of the most respected in country with regard to supporting organisations with every aspect of ERDF funding. He is currently providing advice to the Department for International Trade.
CLIVE WRAY OBE - SENIOR CONSULTANT
Ex-director of public sector contracts with Business West/Bristol Chamber of Commerce. A career providing excellence in service development, tender and proposal preparation, project implementation planning, initiation and delivery management. Over 20 years’ experience of delivering support to business, awarded an OBE in 2014 for ‘Services to Small Businesses and International Trade’. Delivered 15 ERDF programmes subject to an evaluation process. Significant experience in designing evaluation frameworks and providing in-depth understanding of scope and requirements. JIM PLUNKETT-COLE - LEAD ECONOMIST
Jim has almost 20 years’ experience of local/regional economic analysis, working at the highest levels for public and private sector clients across the UK, assisting national, regional and local government organisations. Jim specialises in informing the plans and strategies of organisations, providing statistical evidence to ensure a forensic approach to planning, strategy and evaluation to achieve the most impact.
ANDY POWELL - PROJECT DIRECTOR
Andy is responsible for coordinating leading on ERDF technical support, Summative Assessment and evaluation activities across the UK. He has worked across the past 3 EU funding programmes, where he has designed, delivered, evaluated and supported ERDF funded business support projects, predominantly in the field of business support and innovation. MATTHEW CORNBILL - DELIVERY CONSULTANT
Matthew specialises in information gathering, analysis, collation and dynamic presentation of data. He provides the team with particular strengths in project and policy research, helping inform outcomes. His role also includes survey, interview and questionnaire design, management and implemenation.
